As this is the first post, I will start by adding our Tournament Rules. These Rules will later be located via a link here on the site.
Bracket Base Tournaments
- A set is a certain number of matchs (best of 3, one try, etc)
- Bracket structure will be defined at the time of tournament, depending on the number of entries.
- In case of team bracket play, each team is treated as a single entity.
- Seeding can be determined by
- Pool play, or round robin, sets before the tournament
- Round Robin is when each player plays all other players at least once.
- The records are then used to determine seeding (best record = top seed)
- If there are ties in the record, the seeding will also take into consideration
- Which opponents the player beat or lost to in round robin.
- If there is still a tie and the players have at least 1 win, a tie-breaker (coin-flip, extra set) will determine that particular seeding order.
- If there are players with 0 wins, they will be randomly placed in the remaining seed position.
- Previous tournament winners/ranking
- Single Elimination style
Matches are head-to-head.
Losers are eliminated from the tournaments
Winners advances
- Double elimination style
Each player must lose 2 sets of matches before being eliminated from the tournament.
Matches are head-to-head.
While in Winner's bracket , winners advances in the winner's bracket, losers will move to the Loser's bracket
While in Loser's bracket, winners advances in the Loser's bracket, losers are eliminated from the tournament
The final winner of the Losers bracket will advance to play the remaining players in the semi-finals to get to the grand finals.
If a Player in the grand finals has not lost a set, he must lose 2 sets of matches to be eliminated.
- If a set ends in a tie, the set does not count and is replayed
Score Base Tournaments
- Each Player will have a pre-determine number of tries to get the highest score or some unit of measure (hit percentage, kills, etc)
- In case of a tie, the players that tied will get one game to play again. Highest score of those games will win.
- A qualifying set maybe needed to separate the field of competition.
- Each player will get one set, their results will determine which competition field they belong to.
- Each field will have it's own Winner.
- Winners of each field will not meet, but previous tournament winners should be encourage to advance to next field
Points based Tournamets
- A set is a certain number of matches (best of 3, one try, etc)
- A qualifying set maybe needed to separate the field of competition.
- Each player will get one set, their results will determine which competition field they belong to.
- Matches are done in group of set number of players.
- A round is when all groups have completed a set.
- The number of rounds is pre-deteremined
- A score is given to each player depending on the results of that round (highest score, fastest time, etc).
i.e 4 players, 4 pts for 1st place, 3 pts for 2nd place, 2 pts for 3rd place, 1 pts for 4th place
- If there is a tie, the players are treated as a single entity and each will be given the same amount of points.
- After all Players have completed a round, the grouping is reshuffled according to the points standing to allow better competition.
- Player with the most points at the end of the game is declared the winner.
